What a fun day! I had the pleasure of photographing Evan’s fabulous Bar Mitzvah with Congregation Rodef Sholom in San Rafael and the joyous reception at Terra Gallery in San Francisco. Now this is a family who knows how to celebrate. And it’s not surprising; with such a cool son like Evan this could only have been a special day.
It is said that a Bar Mitzvah allows the exploration of what it means to be an adult, to be a responsible, a productive, and a caring person. But it’s not just about the child, it’s also about the entire family. Evan’s ceremony and reception demonstrated just that. It was a joy to experience his passage into adulthood and the sharing of his faith. The family and friends that gathered to bless Evan were an intricate part of the jubilance.
After the touching ceremony, the day passed to night and the party continued at 511 Terra Gallery in San Francisco. There was space to eat, dance and share happiness. There were plenty of Kippahs for guests to wear. And Evan, being a huge baseball and basketball fan, had sports team themed yarmulkes made for friends and guests. There was also a full candy bar, fun DJ, dancing, hair braiding, t-shirt and hat artist, sushi bar, slider bar and salad bar. Evan's Horah was so much fun!!! He was carried up above all his friends and family followed by his mom and dad having turns in the chair. This was definitely an eventful party!!
Congratulations Evan!! You are definitely a fine young man with an exceptional future ahead of you. May life bring you great joy and happiness in all your pursuits.
