So fun hanging out this week with my friend Jen and her 4 year-old cutie pie Charlotte! We met at the Richmond library and looked at books in German and French, and then she checked out her favorites with her very own library card. After that, we hung out on the playground for a bit, but then Charlotte noticed a bunch of wildflowers growing on the library lawn. (They were actually weeds, but we didn’t have the heart to tell her!) She picked as many as she could, and after we all had large bouquets, we decided to toss them in the air, which of course reminded my wedding photographer brain of the tradition of throwing the bouquet or the garter toss. I always love photographing both of these traditions, you never know what kind of candid shots you’ll get of bridesmaids fighting for the bouquet!
Any other yoga fans out there? I’m definitely a devotee, seems like it cures almost any of my problems. I’ve been taking exercise more seriously these days and attending yoga classes on the regular. I can say that I was very happy to learn that tree pose, with arms extended straight over your head, cures acid reflux. Yes, that may be a little weird to share, but when you’re just trying to get through the day, every tip helps! And of course good ol’ downward dog is one of the most beneficial poses--good for headaches and insomnia, 2 things most every bride-to-be will encounter! Once you get in the flow of a practice, every time you master a new pose you’ll be excited.
And certainly if you’re a bride-to-be, there’s no better de-stressor than yoga! Do you have any favorite poses? Or do you like another form of exercise to calm your bride brain? Please share any tips for my readers in the comments section!
