Gwen and Cory’s wedding was gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous and totally DIY! I was super honored to be a part of this cool event, and even more honored with a feature in The Knot online edition! These guys chose Dawn Ranch Lodge in Guerneville, California as their setting. This place is amazing! Fifteen acres on the banks of the Russian River, surrounded by redwoods and an apple orchard, with super cute cottages and cabins for all the guests. Their wedding day was bright and sunny, which was perfect for catching great shots of such a colorful and cool event!
Since Gwen loves all things vintage and is also a clothing designer, she bought a vintage wedding dress off of Etsy, and then reworked it, adding lots of pretty lace. She added red vintage jewelry--and look at those custom-made red suede shoes! The bridesmaids wore turquoise and red--a super vibrant color combo, perfect for the outdoor setting. Cory was just as cute in suspenders and a plaid vest.
Gwen had so many cool touches, it’s almost impossible to pick a favorite--but I totally loved the adorable felt flowers she made for boutonnieres and bouquets! Or what about her handmade table cards? She also made the table runners and table markers.
Can we talk about the cake?? Three tiers, with turquoise frosting and loads of strawberries! Cory designed the cake toppers, super cute wooden figurines of themselves and their dog, Mr. Peanut. But one of the cutest parts of the day was the vintage tandem bike that they rode off on after the ceremony. They had gotten engaged after taking a long distance bike ride together, so it was a perfect touch!
